The Vitara does hold its money well but an option could be the S-Cross Allgrip.
As well as exactly the same allgrip running gear and available with the same 1.0, 1.4 and 1.6 engines the SZ5 S-Cross Allgrip has a higher spec than the SZ5 Vitara Allgrip as it has full leather over the vitaras half lethear/alcantara, heated seats, auto dim rear view mirror, headlamp washers (xenon lamps instead of the vitaras led) and a standard armrest that on the pre face-lift vitara was an option
I have a SZ5 S-cross 1.6 petrol as a daily runner that has all the above tyres and rival/scut plates that my Vitara has and gives a regular 49mpg

Ha! You have it bad with the Suzuki's! 😁
Another nice car! You'll have me looking on eBay for a new car I don't need yet!

Trust me there is always space for another Suzuki! :hahaha:

This is one of my Jimnys..

Image

It is a Japanese spec JB23W XG, 3cylinder 660cc Turbo

Image

It was imported by Caterham cars to develop the running gear for the Caterham 160 that uses the same 660 Turbo engine with Suzuki gearbox and rear axle

Image

Initially it looks like a regular Jimny although it has no arches/door cladding, shorter front and rear bumpers and 175/80R16 wheels and tyres over the regular 205/70R15

The 3cyl turbo is a cracking engine, far more fun than our other 1300 Jimny and far better than the 1.5 in the latest Jimny and why we decided against the new Jimny

It rev's like crazy and has Yokohama G003 Mud Tyres so I don't think I am getting the best MPG out of it, saying that it doesn't drink any more than the 1.3 we have running Yokohama Geolandar AT's that I would guess is giving high 30's mpg but we are straight onto B roads with no real stop start journeys
