Hi, another stupid question, have any of you guys replaced your front number plate??.. and if so, are there mounting holes in the bumper?. the reason for asking is, have just ordered a auxilarary light bracket for spots, which should bolt to the bumper and has space to mount the number plate, the present plate is held on with adhesive pads and quite secure, but kinda relectant to pull it off and see whats underneath. If I understand the Amazon link it seems to just use the existing number plate mount holes. If it were me I'd say that those small number plate bolt were not man enough to support the bar. I'd probably be looking to use larger bolts and have something behind the bumper as extra support.

I could be wrong and just have my model in mind. Good to hear you are still tinkering with the Suzuki.

Not sure how to fix that. Behind the plastic cover is this..

I'd have thought just screwed to the plastic it would wobble about.
It may be possible to drill right through and bolt but would probably need little spacers between the metalwork and plastic cover, not too difficult though.

I see there is a licence plate retaining plate on the parts list (3). I assume this is bonded to the rear of the plastic

On my Vitara the front number plate that i bought from Halfords they stuck it on with special heavy duty plastic double sided tape,my initial thoughts that it would drop off after a short while but it did stay on for about 3 years,as i understand it that is the way that they mount them on the bumper.Getting another set of number plates legally is not the easiest thing in the world as you have to provide the full legal paperwork so that they then can upload the information into a central database,but the crazy thing is i could have ordered the plates made up from Ebay without any legal checks,you fathom that one out.

That's a serious looking Jack you are using for the lift ...makes my little 3 ton trolley jack look girlie.

Cheers for all your replies, Gonna drop the bumper and redrill make it a 4 point fixing, with spacers. got a pair of KC Daylighters, so going to need a good solid fix.

I've had my eyes on one of these, would save mounting the spots to the bumper, except the amount of times the front bumper catches i'm afraid i'll rip it off, or bend it :(
