Lower Filler pipe and Curious Blower Issue

Post by JordanX » Fri Feb 19, 2021 5:16 pm

Hi,
I wondered if anybody else has had issues with the rubber lower filler pipe on the 2006 Grand Vitara. I can only put 15ltres into the tank or she starts dropping diesel, I work at a college and because I thought it may be a crack in the tank I got the motor vehicles workshop to put it up on their ramp. The tank outside was dry but there was evidence that the pipe was leaking. I couldn't source the pipe at the local car parts place but they suggested some self sealing tape would work. I was a little uncomfortable with this. Would it work? I emailed Suzuki but they have never gotten back to me.

As an aside we notice that when the outside temperature is -3 or below the internal heater blower stops working, at first I thought it had packed up completely but once the temperature rose it came back with a vengeance. Its a bit of a problem when you start to fog up :)

I had the same problem with our Sportage, luckily I managed to get a new pipe from Kia.
Below is a link to a suzuki parts manual - I do not know which exact model your GV is but if you look through it you might be able to ID your exact car model and part number.

Failing that you might be lucky at a specialist breaker ?
