Carb advice please

Post by Pishadeperro » Sat Jul 14, 2018 1:20 pm

My LJ 80 has a 410 engine I think, but I can't get her to run right...I suspect it's the carb, can anyone give me some advice on which carb I should have and where I can get one from

If that's what I think it is (SU HIF38) then that's the right Carb for the job. If it's a HIF44, then it's probably too big for the 1.0.

If it won't run right, you'll need to find out what needle and spring it's got in it, it won't run right with the wrong ones.

My advice is to get a Colourtune kit, works wonders for me.

Regarding the needle and spring, https://burlen.co.uk - give them a call, they can tell you how to work out which needle and spring you have installed. They can also help you work out if you have a 38 or a 44.

You'll have to do a search on the forum for "HIF38" - somewhere on the forum is the info you need on which needle/spring you should install. Burlen will have them.
