Suspension Question...

Hi guys,

I have a 2003 Jimny, recently changed all four tyres for an off-road variety. Now I've noticed more than ever that the suspension has become noticeably harder.

Do you have any recommendations as to a set of springs/shocks I could invest in to soak up some of the bumps :)

many thanks.

What pressure are you running in the tyres? tyre pressure can play a huge roll in comfort with a light 4x4 and people often run their tyres with too much pressure.

tyre pressure was set by the tyre people a few weeks ago. I'll actually check later. I do remember it being very hard even on normal road tyres too funnily enough, people kept saying 'your suspension is fubarred' in nicer terms lol.

My Jimny lacks comfort, when I had the tyres balanced they stuck nearly 40psi in the tyres, aired them down to around 20-25 depending on where I am and it's nicer now! haha

my misses gave two people a lift last week and both said that
They think her suspension is broken on her jimny as its very bouncy and harsh.

I said its fine, just tell them that suzukis are crap.
Fun, but crap. The best worst car if you will.

Once people accept this, its smiles all the way.

Recommended is 23 front, 26 rear. :salute:
Mine is normally unloaded and i fine 23 all round works well.

Bear in mind tyre pressures will vary by tyre type and size too. I find 18psi works well on the road for me on 33s.

Thanks again for all the input. I checked the tyres tonight, they are 205/70 R15 and they had 41 PSi all around.... so swiftly dropped that down to 26 all around & the ride became a little bit more softer. Haven't checked the tyre pressures since I had the tyres fitted at my local tyre fitters so presumed they were correctly inflated.
