Vitara knocking noise

Hope somebody can help me please, just got a 59 plate diesel Vitara swb and its developed a loud knocking noise that sounds like it's transmission related.
If you set of sharp it makes a loud knock then it's ok, but if you alternate between forward and reverse it keeps doing it.
Tried it with the rear prop off but it still does it and it's defo from the front, not tried with front prop off yet but any help appreciated.
