Does it mostly make the noises while pulling away and changing gear? If so it could be suffering from axle wrap causing the prop UJs to bind, this can blow diffs and shear teeth.
Get someone to drive your Sj and watch the rear axle as they pull away, if the diff pinion lifts a lot (axle rotates) it's time for some new rear springs or and anti wrap bar.
