Lennert's LJ80

Post by LennertBijnensSuzuki » Sat Jun 25, 2016 12:35 am

May 2015, found on internet a LJ80.
Picked it up for 250€

When we looked under the hood, there was an f10a engine in it :brows:
So far so good, put away by the rest of the suzuki trash
November 2015 > Our club decided to do a Trial, only for clubmembers
thought that was a good opportunity to use the LJ80 for.
Never did a Trial myself, always as Co-driver with my dad or uncle, or spectator...
Found some 27" :hahaha: tires for it 600r16 bfgoodrich 4x4 (old ones  )
Finished surprising 1st in the improved classe (because of the engine)
But in the overall ranking, finished 5th  against the vehicles with the lockers and the stuf. :thefinger:
My little LJ did a really good job that day :salute:

I also have an youtube account where you can find clips from me and my club do some mudding, etc. :rockin:
Here is a recent clip of the 2 first days I used my LJ80.
on the trial, private terrain in Belgium
on The Landsard, Terrain in the Netherlands

After its first day offroad on the club trial
I wanted to make a rollcage myself and some other things to redo.
So I did :weld:

But then I saw something what i didn't like so decided to cut the whole floor on drivers side (left on this side of the North-sea)
and made a new floor.

So rollcage done.

time for some paint
first a good primer on it

Then the final colour, Orange :D

Also did the dashboard in orange
Image

Then it was time to give the full body a new paintjob
I still have some paint from the SJ paintjob, so decided to put this also on the LJ, and it really matches good with the orange cage

Cutted a old softtop from a samurai in pieces to fit on the cage, now when it's cold ar rainy I can roll the back flap down and I sit warm and dry, but can roll it up
Image

Got the muds from the SJ on it for offroad, a 215r15 Blackstar Guyane

Made half doors for trial and for keeping the water out of it

If you don't mentioned it yet, also put in 2 racingseats :brows:

Got the grill paint, and brakes adjusted ready for a offroad day in Eindhoven, NL

Oh yeah, mounted some extended shackles under it also...

And here a picture of that offroad day

Had some bad luck with a tree :x

Few weeks ago, I took of the brake drums on the rear, and putted on some diskbrakes from samurai :thefinger:

Past sunday, picked up some spare parts, also because my dad has an full restoration of an LJ80 going on, but thats just for sunday-driving

Now it stands there waiting on our weekend in Germany...
Has something to do on it also...
Gonna lift it up for 1.5" and maybe 1" bodylift extra...
need a new oilpan and fix the fender

Ouch, that looks like a nasty bash to the front. Love the LJ, great to see it being used

For pure offroad, a like an LJ much more then my SJ, this goes (almost) everywhere you want it... you really can try everything especially with the 1000cc engine in it... My uncle drives also an LJ80 with an 800cc engine and a welded rear diff, doesn't comes that far as mine :middelfangers:

But it's a nice LJ and he drives it for more then 20 years now
