Good luck! i always go around and check all lights and the horn before the test just to be sure. oh and dont forget to ask them to adjust the headlights for you first as they might be out now it has a bit more lift and youve fitted the golf ones

Well it failed

nearside headlight had no pattern
offside brake light not working
brake pedal anti-slip provision missing
front wheel bearing excessive play
hand brake was poor
offside rear drum not effective enough
brake lines leaking on bias valve

But i managed to sort all that out in a hour and got back up there 5 minutes before he closed. He retested it and........

IT PASSED :doit: :doit: :doit: :doit: :smokin:

Well iv been on the road for a few days now, and a number of issues have arisen so far.

Iv got oil leaking from the back of the engine, not sure where at the moment.

A knocking coming from somewhere when slowing down between 10mph and 0mph. Think it might be one of the front wheel bearings.

The indicaters flash really fast.

The idle speed seems a bit high, when the auto choke is on, it ticks over about 2800rpm and then settles down to 1000rpm

Other than that it seems pretty solid, and not to bad to drive. Apart from trying to get out of tight parking spaces, the steering is ruddy heavy

righto! oil leak will be either the dizzy housing, fuel pump or rocker cover gasket.

The fast flashing should have failed the MOT so I presume it wasn't at the time of MOT? One of the indicator bulbs/earths must've failed as fast flashing is a sign of too little resistance in the circuit. Is it just one side or both?

There is a choke idle adjuster screw on the carb I think, cant remember which one though, will look for you. or it could be something to do with the idle up if you have that set up.

And yep 33x12.50s without power steering is a good workout  I've got power steering to go on mine when i put it all back together.
