My First Suzuki - SJ413
My First Suzuki - SJ413
Hello,
I'm the proud new owner of a 1990 SJ413.
Purchased off ebay, purchased SORN, currently getting some welding (wheel arches and sills) and some new brakes.
Looking to restore it back to its original state in the coming weeks. Also just purchased a roof tent which should be interesting.
Any advise on the following would be appreciated...
Bumper bracket placement (cant for the life on me see where the bumper used to hang)
Roof rack advice (thinking of making my own for my roof tent but if anyone knows of anywhere that I can get a nice 90's looking safari style one...)
Colour code for this dark grey?
Thanks,
Adam.

This was the style of roof rack I was thinking of making. Hardy.

The bumper mounts have been cut off. Theres a tube cross member through the front of the chassis, you can see it in the first pic.
Originally the tube came out further, and had a flat plate on each end that the bumper bolted to

Hi there and welcome.
I think the colour code is 38b, charcoal gray metallic. Looks the same as my 89 hardtop. There should be a small vin plate in drivers side footwell with it stamped on there mate.

Welcome to SCUK.
As said. The original bumper mounts were part of that front tube cross-member and have been cut off.
Paint code will be in the VIN plate.

Welcome to SCUK.
As above the bumper mount has been cut down. Very common when removing the bumper and fitting larger tyres.

Re: My First Suzuki - SJ413
Bit of progress.
Cleaned the sills and wheel arches up and got it through its MOT. Had a roof rack built, but not painted yet and attached the roof tent. Removed old school decals, which I'm still in two minds about doing and got some nice little chrome wing mirrors for it too.
