Hi, can anyone help me out here?

I can't figure out how to remove the old handbrake cable - it's setup 2 in the cable diagrams on this site and if I've done this correctly, it's the one shown in this post! I got the left side cable out ok but the linkage for the other side is covered by a t shaped plate so I can't get under there and see what the hell I'm doing. There must be a simple way, anyone done this? Someone must have! Thanks for any advice. I've still got to source the cables too...

Ive got this handbrake setup on one of my sj's, im sure that when I changed the cables I took the drum off and disconnected the cable from the shoe, then that lets you pull the handbrake lever up in the cab without tension on the cable, then you can access the nuts on the end of the cable to take them out. I remember struggling to find cables and had to go to my suzuki main stealer, sorry meant dealer and spend £55 per cable.

Any chance of some photos. The only parts list that showed this type is for the Santana. I can see how it comes apart but have no idea on the limited access to it. The workshop manuals I have don't show/cover this type.

Thanks, good tip Steve and if I'm still stuck at the weekend I'll see if I can get pics Darrell. Mine is indeed badged as a Santana - I'd forgotten!
