Re: Rear Dampers
Haha! Astra MK2 eh? I'll ask my old man, see if he has any. He runs the Lincoln Vauxhall Archive, i.e. he has a huge garage filled with 2 built MK2 Belmonts, 1 hatchback in pieces and a huge number of other bits. If he doesn't have some in his private stock I'll be willing to bet there aren't any left in the country.
There's three ways of doing things:
The right way,
The wrong way
And my way, which is like the wrong way but faster.

Re: Rear Dampers
Vauxhall astra mk2 shocks will fit the rear...
But they are very soft, probably too soft for an SJ...
They work, but they are a long shot from the right compression etc...
p.s. I've got them on the rear of mine, they seem to work quite well with add a leaf and slightly extended shackles (2.5-3" lift)
I did have pro-comp ES3000s, but they are much to hard for my liking
Good going fast over bumps, but on the road you feel every speck of bacteria you run over!
p.p.s I think I have some standard length shocks hanging around in my shed?

Re: Rear Dampers
the unipart number for astra shocks is GSA20180 not 100% sure thats for the gas ones though and you'll need to make an adapter bar to fit them. nice and simple though all you need is some angle
I have run them on my SJ for years and I dont think they are too soft. I think that comes from people running them with spoa and they like to blame the softness for them falling over more.

hahahaha
that's a good call... i think they're alright, most people bitch about them though!
someone - "SPOA is the best lift, but the shocks make it roll over"
me - "yeah right"
