New decal, opinions welcome!

Post by SlimGrim » Wed Oct 04, 2017 8:17 pm

So the Zuki and I went to santa pod this Sunday for the last jap car show of the summer & had a blast, however as a result of getting into the spirit of things this happened... And I don't know how I feel about it, I half love it and half hate it, should it stay or go away??

Nice, but rear window might be favorite? looks like it encroaches the wiper zone, may be a prob come MOT time?

I do love that sticker! Is it inside or outside? I have a calmini 'sun visor' but the sticky side is on the back so it would have to go outside and it is in the swept wiper area, I didn't want it peeling off!

Sadly it's on the outside but I have had it in heavy rain and no peeling yet, also yeah the wipers come past the allowed "40mm" of travel into the strip and so it would fail.... Or I could try find some shorter blades :hahaha: ;)

As said that will fail the MOT and if you get pulled they won't be happy about it either.

Apart from that it looks good.

Good sticker, but as said will probably fail mot, even if it passed you will have to change wiper blades
Sid James gone but never forgotten
Jimny 1.6 not as good as an SJ but still good

Its 'ok' i guess, but by using a decal like that its trying too portrait what the car is not,it would look very good on a very hot hatch that type of environment, but on a 1.3 SJ its like putting a 4'' bore tail pipe on a 1.0 Corsa all noise and no go.

Also as others have mentioned the MOT issue,i doubt that it would pass and also possibly get extra interest from the 'Plod' basically like a red rag to a bull type of situation. The although your SJ is legal they could pull you over and go over the car with a fine tooth comb.

Just my opinion of course,if it floats your boat then good luck with it and enjoy it.
