Well nearly MOT time again, I've moved out of the area of my regular, friendly MOT garage guy (only 34 years ) so just checked and found that a KwikFit Plus, is now my nearest test centre.
Watched all the undercover TV exposés in the past, so bit wary about their business practises in general, not just the possible strictness of their testers.
Anyone use this chain for their MOT? if so, what was your experience?
Thanks in advance

I personally wouldn't go near ANY chain garage for MOTs. I'm constantly advising friends that have done that have been ripped off by various big chains in this area.
They seem to like to making up problems that don't actually exist.

Family member had two front tyres done in one recently, was told they needed new discs and pads as well and they would do them at the same time. Car didn’t and still dose not need either. Wouldn’t go near them

Have never heard anything positive about Kwikfit, they may have been good at some stage in the past, but i certainly would never use them.

TBH I wouldn't use a big chain garage for anything car related. The don't care about repeat custom and rely on customers that don't know anything about cars to make their money. I won't even go to somewhere like kwikfit to have tyres changed

That can be the thing with family though, don’t listen enough.
Had a mate work in one in London, years ago, and even when he worked there he wouldn’t recommend them. His qualifications for the working on cars? His brother worked there

Far better using the council station....if there is still one open near you.I used to live in Enfield but they closed theirs because of spending cuts.
