Sourcing a rear propshaft

Post by portaccio » Tue Apr 24, 2018 5:38 pm

Hi, it's been a long time since I've needed to ask for advice from this forum. Just goes to show how little trouble my Jimny has given me over the years.
I have a vibration caused by my rear propshaft and my mechanic has handed my car back saying he couldn't find one, and if I can find one online he'll fit it for me.

I've got a 2002 JLX Special and cannot find anything in the generic car part websites. I have found this...

...which is from 98 automatic. Will that make any difference that mine is a manual? Sorry, I have absolutely zero mechanical knowledge.

Can anyone point me in the direction of someone who could help me source what I need?

Regards
Tom

Probably just a universal joint.

What part of the prop did he say was worn?

Might be worth dropping the props and checking the UJ's, the vibration that was really bad for me was caused my the transfer box mounts!

I've got a spare rear propshaft that will fit yours and i'm in Shepton. You're more than welcome to pop down and try the spare prop out and see if it fixes it?
