Those nicely painted wings are looking lovely, shame they are still on the garage floor and not the Merc.

I have however managed to change the hand brake cable. Was a pain to get the right one but thanks to the firstline parts catalogue i got the right bits first time.

Spent today doing oil and filters. Seems fine, was overdue time wise but not on miles. Done for another year now.

Also crudely part fitted my additional LED interior lights.

Drilled a hole through the roof lining and fed the wires through to the existing light for power, also work on the light switch and door switch.

Just need to get some self tapping screws from work to fix them in place.

This is quite literally a no expenses spared upgrade into the 21st century.

Bluetooth stereo, eBay special £13. Works fine, currently only wired into the 2 dash speakers. I do have a pair of Speakers to fit to the rear wall at some point.

Phone quality seemed ok too, no sure what it will be like with the sound of the engine at 60mph but i’ll find out.

Haven’t done any journeys over 30mins with it yet but seems fine so far.

Can’t be any worse than the shit merc fit as standard to the trucks.

Made a start today on replacing the wings and repairing / painting the grill.

The wing was a real twat to get off, amazing just how sticky seam sealer is.

Good work dude.

Minimal rust really, good your treating it now.

Compared with transits of the same age it's amazing how well built mercs used to be.

Shame to following vans never got the same build quality.
