Post by border » Sun Dec 13, 2020 12:22 am

SJ 410 Well think I need a new Matrix, . Cant find any Guides on how to replace.
Can I do it without taking whole Dash out ? or is that just wishful thinking ??

it's easiest t just remove the dash. It's not that hard to do, much easier than modern cars

Thanks but I really dont have the time , patience , or for that matter Knowledge to take the full Dash apart.
My only option for now is to Bypass it , unless there Is a way to get it out, I have lossened these 2 bolts circled in pic, and the one in the bulchead, I can move whole box now by hand and it does look like it will wangle out from in there if I remove bolts but not sure if it will go back in :S

You might get it out by unbolting the dash support bar, you need to move that bar at least a bit to squeeze it out.

Trust me though it's really not that hard or time consuming to remove the dash. Have a look at this, it's for a lhd samurai but the process is pretty much the same, you just don't need to remove the centre section of the dash. https://www.suzukiclubuk.co.uk/how-to-t ... -and-fixes

I have looked at that Mate, and dont want to attempt it unless I really have to, Might have a go at unbolting the support bar as you mentioned, then see from there.
Do you know the best place to buy new Matrix from ?

Just had another poke about in there and Im pretty sure I can get it out by moving the support bar at passenger side, might have a go at weekend if I can find a replacement Matrix before then.

Didn't take the whole dash out just the Support Bar that runs from one end to the other.
Was quite a struggle to get the heater box out, Even harder to get the thing back in but got there in the end surprised I didnt brake it as had to use brute force.
Anyway Got Heat now :D
