GV Headlamp Washers

Post by SteveyM » Fri May 20, 2022 9:06 pm

Hi guys,

I'm new on here and looking for some advice please. I've got a 2011 Grand Vitara SZ5 2.4 petrol with a few mods so far, 16" steel wheels with all terrain tyres, roof rack/platform and front spot lights.

The problem I've got is with my headlamp washers that aren't working, no idea if this is a common problem at all? Anyway, my first suspicion was maybe the pump had packed up but I've pulled the switch out the dash and if I run a wire from the power terminal of the connector/plug and touch it to earth the washers operate so I'm presuming the pump is ok. I'm not great with electrics but would that suggest the switch is faulty or that I've got a problem with an earth somewhere?

Many thanks in advance.

Steve.

Problem sorted, I hadn't realised the headlights needed to be on for the washers to function!

Nice to see you got it sorted for yourself. It’s become very quiet on here of late and everyone seems to own older models
Sid James gone but never forgotten
Jimny 1.6 not as good as an SJ but still good
