Misprint, 18 months in at this point. Everything removed from the chassis; stripped, cleaned, checked and inspected as per Suzuki's spec then swathed in hammerite where appropriate. Alongside this all the drivetrain and braking system was bench overhauled, ready to be refitted to the rolling chassis. Differentials were found to be in good order, though the transfer box need a partial stripdown.

Now upto the 2 year point. Around this time my welder was going to town on the body, mainly around the bulkhead and footwells as mentioned, though new seat mounts also went in as I shall be fitting some Gucci seats from a Mazda6 I obtained in the interim. They're a tight squeeze but well padded so should assist the suspension too

Also at this point my spray painter (wife) was rubbing down and prepping all the bodywork, then build a Heath Robinson spray booth using plastic sheeting and 4x2. Rattle can special though it isn't meant to be a show pony, just for the mountains. By now it was May and my garage is like an oven during the summer months so it all cured in no time.

So this is how she is currently, and has been since this April if I'm honest due to a busy old summer. The chassis is 95% built, slight issue with the left hand axle shaft at the moment. Seats are 'offered in' but not fixed in place as I'm still working on the wiring loom/dashboard area. Also the bonnet and wings are just slaved into place for alignment purposes and ensuring the correct size fasteners go in the correct place. Engine and gearbox are currently on the bench awaiting my e making space so I can strip and overhaul them. I'll attempt to post updates more often instead of en masse!
