USB cable fitting

Hi, 2019 Vitara with USB/ Apple carplay issues. Intermittent connection. So far I have tried new cables, USB C and USB A and 2 different phones. I have now replaced the USB socket but still have the same issue. I am informed that the issue (maybe) the cable to the USB behind the facia. I can see that this will have to be my next job. . I have identified the cable, but cannot see any info on how to fit it. Apart from attending a auto elec or Suzuki garage, does anyone know if this is easy to fit for an averagely competent (amateur) mechanic?
