2025 meet

Post by ScottieJ » Wed Jan 29, 2025 4:35 pm

Thinking about maybe trying to plan an SCUK weekender.

Any thoughts about potential offroad sites that are central UK and allow for club weekend bookings?

We used to use Wagtail but I’ve tried to contact them a few times over the last few years about booking for a weekend with no luck 👎

Every September I go to the annual birty dastards anus event (in an SJ of course) the site is very fun and actually non damaging.
It's held at Coney green off-road centre in Kidderminster. Don't have any info on cost but I'm sure a chat with the farmer/owner would sort that.

Further north, big Jimny hold an annual jimny event at tong off-road centre (Bradford/Leeds) in June/July. I'm pretty certain tong is around £2500 - £3000 to hire for the day.

Or if you guys down south fancied a road trip to rankines neck of the woods then there's drumclog. Owners sound and abit of a hillbilly which adds to the fun, don't know how much he would want to hire but he can accommodate alot of motors and still keep it a pay and play day. Though I haven't been since the rivers were closed off, which was a shame as the hidden woods downstream were brilliant for sjs.

There the only places I know we could get in at

Ah coney green was one I was looking at, I’ll drop them a message.

I would like to get up to Drumclog one day. It’s a long ol drive from this far down south 😅

Yeah drumclog wouldn't book the weekend out for us. But there would definitely be enough space even with it open. Was a bummer when river closed. Last time I went I manages to squeeze down a track the quads had been making and get into the forest tho.

But it is pretty far up for most

Coney green is definitely worth a try. I right enjoy it there, suits sjs so well.

Not sure I'd be able to squeeze into them small gaps nowadays with landcruiser axles, wouldn't stop me trying though. Do feel an drumclog trip is overdue, love the fact I can take all my toys and just use what I want
