Lookin' good mike!

I see what you mean now when you say it's in quite a few bits!!!
It should be a mint truck when it's done with the amount of work you are putting in!

Looking forward to some more pictures mike. Should look spot on in a dark red with black bits. I'd do rocker cover etc Body coloured would look nice. That gearing Is pretty low mike what are you planning on using it for? What size tyres are you going to use?

thanks guys, see what i mean twiss !! lol,

yeh the gearing..... lol, erm 5.1 trandfer box, and 5.125 diffs, and at teh moment 28 inch tyres!!!

i am having second thoughts on turbo charching the 16v engine now, the gearing will be low enough to take me anywhere, ill put 34 inch tyres on it, bu the gearing will stress all the transmission greatly, so i am goinf to have to seam weld the transfer box crossmember, as the are stich welded from factory, and ill have to beef up where the transfer box is held to the mounts too,

i was told the other day flat out in 5th gear high range will be like 35 ish mph???

thats with the 28 inch tyres, dont know what it will be with the 34's, it will be road legal bt it will be too slow for the road, so ill just trailor it about.

trialing, play days, slow green laning !! and maybe even a challenge event maybe, not to sure what ill use it for yet, engine is nearly been done, i get some pics up when its back from being machined,

cant wait now, paint on wednesday, got all the bits to finish it now !!!

thanks

mike

if i was you mate i would do away with the 5.1 transfer box. Will remove all the stress from the driveline as the the torque conversion is done at the axles so no extra stress on transfer box mounts, propshafts, transferbox mounts, you could even use a 410 transfer box to drop the gearing slightly lower. Plus you will get good money for that transfer box on ebay.
You need to do some calculations just stick all your ratios in here http://www.geckocycles.com/calc/percent ... gears.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
Im using Vitara diffs 4.88:1 and otherwise standard drivetrain, with 33's and gearing is spot on.

yeh i am not sure yet, depends what its like really, its a trail tough gear set with uprated shafts in it, its brand new too, but ill see what its like, i got major work to do beefing up the chasis anyway, so ill beef up the transfer box area to.

we shall see !!

thanks, yeh getting there now, just got to get the body back off and into storage and sort out the chasis / drivetrain, i have got to get the engine built too, which is next on the list of jobs to do.

i need a 1.6 16v vitara oil pump if any one knows of one????

i seem to have lost all of the bolts out of mine when i stripped it!!!

the colour has got darker as it has dried over night, looks awsome, my mate is rally good at spraying, and he made a top job of it !!!

we got it all done, body, front end, doors, bonnet.......

wont be long now!!!

thanks

mike
