Hi from the New Forest!
Hi from the New Forest!
Hi Everyone.
I've had my SJ413 for quite a while now but it failed the first MOT I put it through. A blown exhaust and too much play in the steering - a bit harsh I thought, I'm sure not going in the direction you point them is a standard SJ feature.
I decided to take the opportunity to get some power steering added and sort out the suspension, the leaves on one side were really sagging. I told my wife it would be a four week project ...
... fast forward six years to erm ... last week and it's just past it's test.
It's great, I love it. Rattly and bumpy but loads of fun. I took it boating on Salisbury Plain with the kids and a couple mates last weekend, it made it there and back again. Result!
What's done:
Power steering (mostly Vit bits and a bracket made by a local welder)
3.5 lift with reverse shackles
New shocks
A bit of welding on one of the sills
New exhaust to keep those MOT chaps quiet.
Braided brake leads from Lama4x4 (I highly recommend David there but put aside a couple of hours if you're going to phone)
Still to do:
Swap in a Nikki carb that I've got (I think it came from someone on this forum - Andy/Oblivion ??)
Roll cage
Free wheeling hubs
Electric fan
Loads of other bits and bobs.
If I can work out how to do attachments there should be a picture below. Cheers.

Re: Hi from the New Forest!
Hi and welcome to Suzuki Club!!!
Nice looking SJ you have there
With you being from the new forest area, you're pretty much smack bang in the middle of most of us. We seem to concentrated around the south coast and the west country/bristol area, so if we organise a SCUK event it will probably be near to you!!!
Have a look at the members map, theres a link to it top right of the page.
The truck looks kind of familiar... like my mates old one. Does the number plate resemble M*** AGJ by any chance?
Probably not but you never know!
