Glad you found the problem.
Its always good to buy another SJ if you got the money, and place to store it,for stripping it for parts.

i cleaned my head by spraying it with diluted oven cleaner then stuck it in the girlfriends dishwasher for a few hours came out like brand new got rid of all the carbon deposits too.
