I would think they should be fine.

i got the electric pump today, collected it from the post office and stopped at the motorfactors for 2 inline filters, and 2 meters of new fuel line and some jubilee clips.
But i sorted out the fuel pump, what i did was remove the arm that pumps it, took out the spring, cleaned it out, blew it with an airline, dried it with a cloth and then airline some more, then pumped it full with silicone, cut a closed gasket over it, put the black space over the closed gasket filled the hallow bit with silocone, and then set another closed gasket over that, then bolted the pump back on and wait for it all to dry.
I didnt know where to get a blanking plate to suit but will this unconventional approach do?

Hmmm maybe... I don't know how much pressure there is in the rocker cover...

Just make sure your rocker cover breather is clear and not blocked ;)

Normally people make their own blanking plates.

as for the fuel pump i decided to contact a seller on ebay i got egr blanking plates for my 406 a while back, he says that he can laser cut out the metal if i give him the gasket, so it seems good.
I went about putting in the electric fuel pump today:

i put it up to the battery to test it, heard a whizz and then smelt petrol, there was a leak coming from the back, so i had to take the tank out (thankfully there wasnt much petrol in it) i changed the pipe taking the fuel from the tank to new stuff, put the tank back in, then tried the pump again and still a leak, tank out again, there was a smaller pipe that goes into the side of the tank which was pissing out the petrol, so i connected it up with new pipe. And then up went the fuel tank:
Image
the pipes are long enough now to allow the tank to sit on the ground for testing, before you would have had to hold the tank in mid air to reconnect the pipes.

Then here is the fuel filter under the bonnet:
Image
its putting the fuel out this end very nicely i disconnected the filter and it pushed plenty of petrol out.
But the jeeps not running right at the moment, there doesnt seem to be any petrol coming out of the carb when i pull back the throttle, so thats a problem.
That under bonnet filter connects what on the original fuel pump would have been the pipe on the left, and the pipe on the top right, the bottom right pipe is not doing anything, i put a bolt in it to blank it off. But its just not getting petrol into the carb.

suzuki really did think it out very well, the light shining down through the floor was a nice help i didnt need a light to see what to do.
(im not too worried about the rust though, the body of my anus is a bit crusty, but unlike my previous vitaras the chasis has been waxoyled so its solid)

the pumps working now, but the new problem is the carbs not getting petrol, i tried pulling back the throttle and usually i can see petrol spray out of a wee tab, but not a the moment. Therefore the anus wont start.

Should no longer be any pressure on the return pipe, so don't know why it was leaking :er: .

the back seems to be sorted now though its not leaking, and up front when i take out the filter the petrol shoots out the pipe.
its just not getting into the carb.
