Weber carb set up 32/36 DGV

HI All,

I've only recently got this LWB SJ413 so I am still learning and getting to know her. I need some help on the carb please. Because I didn't buy and fit the carb I don't have any detail on how to set the carb up properly.

The problems:

1) when warm the engine idles far too fast, rev counter isn't working (yet) so cannot say what the rpm is exactly, but it sounds like about 1200-1500 as a best guess.

2) There are a good few vacuum lines left loose around the carb 'area' no doubt they were used on the old carb set up but on this one..... I guess these arn't used.

So.... can anyone help me please, anyone fitted this carb and have still got the fitting instructions? please I could get a copy of? I need to work out / know what should be done with the vacuum lines which are currently just hanging out in the bay attached to nothing!!

I am hoping... that once I try to set the carb up properly and sort those lines out, that may go a long way to sorting out the high tick over when warm.

I have a Nikki, and when i fitted that all the old vacume pipes, i just bent them over about 1/2 an inch from the end and cable tied them off. Dont think this will alter the RPM as the vacum acted upon the carb to make the changes, so none of this realy helps :hammer: lol

Right then
A+B are vaccum points that need to be blocked up. i had some rubber bungs but when i set my timing up wrong it blasted the ends off, so i just connected one point to the other with a piece of tubing after all they are at the same vaccum potential.

C is the vaccum advance retard, this should connect to your distributer

D is the mixture screw

E is the idle screw its hidden behind the bracket on the photo but it is there

hi,i own a webber carb.my problem is that my engine will idle just fine,however when i accelerate it judders and takes time to catch up revs.does anyone have ideas for a solution?????

when i had that, i changed the fuel filter and everything was fine, it may be shit getting into the carb, try spraying some carb cleaner down the neck to (im sure youve already tried these things) the only problem ive had with the carb was high tickover, so i doused it in wd40 and it sorted itself out! magic

wot iv ud is check all fiters.
cleen carb
swaped most off the spark with a working sj to test.
changed engine.

it will rev fine if i rev it slow but give it a bit an it bogs down like there to much air or gas sorta sounding like a back fier.
it will drive fine it just strugels to get to speed will hold if fine even picks up if you use littel gas but as soon as you press a bit harder it bogs down

Have you got a snorkel? sounds like it could be starved of air!

if you have a snorkel disconnect it and try again see if that cures it. if it does you will be needing a new snorkel made of something with a higher internal diameter.
