Seeing as trotter is to lazy to sort this out I'm going the whole 140 metres to his this weekend to whip the body off, weld the body mounts, and put it back on.

Seems easier than arseing about trying to jack the body enough to get a plate in there and then weld from undeneath with the chassis in the way.

Anyone taken a body off with front clip still attached?

Went round today and did a 'Scottie impression' in-between the near constant rain.

Didn't help that whoever did the arches before had welded the front clip to the body.

We got it off though and the body is all disconnected and ready to lift off in the morning.
