Picture of a mock-up of the body, I have remade the buck for the front and rear wings since this was taken and redone the windscreen aperture to take a SJ screen. Now that I am fitting LR axles I will change the arches as they need to be 2" wider each side.

I bet it's going to fly with the redtop it was pretty quick with the quad carb 16V

Scott,unfortunately it was a single carb 44mm HIF, I was going quad carbs but decided that a bigger engine was better in the long run. 16v had 100hp, about 75 to the wheels, Redtop should have 180hp, about 150 to the wheels. The truck is 5' 8" tall at ride height and will be wider than previous incarnation, CoG is also lower. If it does not fly I will have wasted several hundred hours on it!

Thanks for the pics. Did you make the gearbox to t-box shaft and stuff, or are they from something?

Interemediate prop is home made, uses one end from the SJ intermediate prop, the other end is uses the prop that matches the gearbox, in my case a carlton prop. The tube size happens to be the same so cutting and shutting is easy.
Carlton gear ratios are best as there is a smaller jump 2nd to 3rd, Omega gearboxes are much more common now as most Carltons have given in to tin worm. Omega clutch is hydraulic, Carlton is cable, I prefer hydraulic for off road use as it is much easier to completely seal the bell housing, cable is easier as the SJ is already set up for it.
I am fitting a flat flywheel as it is lighter, I will need to space out the clutch slave to ensure it engages. I have a 6 paddle clutch to fit, when I pull the engine to paint the chassis I will set up the clutch.

Well, I happen to have fairly easy access to all things late 80s and 90s Vauxhall. My dad's into MK2 Astras and Carltons, but if I'm going to do a conversion, it'll be in a few years time yet, and I'll probably just use a plain black-top 2.0 16v.

Ah I didn't realise that you never fitted the bike carbs my mistake that is pretty low, you've beat me by 1" mine is 5'9" but my COG Will be quite a bit higher with the raised transmission.

I'm sure it will fly, the first time you hit a jump around a comp safari course
