Hi Everyone

We made it back from our weekend trip, have a look at the pics. We traveled 882.1 km, mostly corrugated gravel roads, think we need to soften our suspension :bawling: .

Looking at the complete OME setup, any comments?

Overall very impressed with how the SJ did, had lots of fun in the riverbeds.

Cheers

Sounds like a good trip! thanks for the pictures

I've not ran OME springs myself but form what I have heard they are the best after market springs you can buy in the comfort department apart from converting to YJs or doing something like CJ rear springs and putting your rear springs up front.

The problem with SJ springs is that they just aren't really long enough to give a good ride.

Cool, thanx for the reply.

Spoke to the folks at Rocky Road, they suggested the OME setup with mild springs, gives a 2 -2.5 inch lift.

Correct me if i am wrong, but the fact that the OME Setup gives a 2 inch lift equals more travel in the suspension ie. softer ride? Trying to figure out the mechanics behind the theory.

With a 2 inch lift, how does that affect stability ie. in corners on gravel road?

Thanx again for all the help.

I think the ride more to do with how the springs are made, rather than the height of them...
Sort of as scott says, if the spring perches were further apart, the springs would absorb bumps better.

We normally advise that you should try and space your wheels out as much as you lift the truck!
2" lift can feel a bit precarious sometimes when you're going fast round corners...

I would see how you like it and if it feels a bit wobbly, space the wheels out :)

Hope this helps!

Hi Twiss

Thanx for the input, think we will be going with the OME mild suspension and 20mm spacers and see how it goes. The folks at Rocky Road said this should be sufficient, even with all the bits we still want to stick on. Worst case scenario we can always add an extra leaf spring later if needed.

Now just to twist the wife's arm to get the setup.

Cheers :rockin:
