Re: what suspension lift to go for
Was just looking on rocky road and noticed this "Our Samurai pictured with 3" springs and the Add A Leafs.... obviously we're toting around alot of extra weight on the rear end there"
Didnt realise you could add-a-leaf to 3" lift springs....
Also, never really got an answer to this, how dificult is it to fit a 2" body lift? do you have to gut the SJ etc?

I wouldn't listen to too much on the rockyroad website, If you ever read any US forums you'll find out the reasons!
add-a-leaf + lift springs I think you'd need 1ton of gear in that back for them to flex
and bodylift = piece of piss providing the nuts come undone a hilift jack will make it easier.

3" Body lifts are cheap here: http://www.specialist-leisure.co.uk/aca ... Lifts.html" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false;
I have read though that 3" body lift can cause all kinds of issues??
^That would be much easier than buying new rear 3" lift springs for the front
"I had tons of probs ith my body lift. first if the bolts r rusty then spray them the day before u take them off. 2, i had to mod the floors, t-case shift knob, 5-speed shift knob,and steering shaft. it was not as easy as they said it was."

Re: what suspension lift to go for
apparently you can get away with a 2" bodylift relatively easily, but not the 3" lift

Re: what suspension lift to go for
Not sure if the issues with the 3" body lift is more related to the vitaras not sj's... any ideas? no one here ever fitted one?
Re: what suspension lift to go for
I may just press forward and go with the 3" calmini body lift, seems there are problems with the vitara's but people seem to have been ok with the SJ's. Just hope it does all go ok as i cant be doing without the anus during the week lol.
So... Twiss.... would you be willing to give a hand if/when i get it, im keen to learn and do most of it but I would not be too confident doing it without someone with a little know how with me
