Yes that black/white is a switched live and goes to the standard alternator (so not needed now), the ignition coil and the fuel solenoid/shut off valve (not needed with an SU) . Yes just insulating the ends with suitable tape will do. I took some pics of the engine bay and piping, I will resize/sort these out later today if you need them to suss out the cooling.

Fantastic mate, Thanks for clearing that up! Much appreciated!!

Think iv sorted the cooling but if its not to much hassle to you then it wouldn't hurt for me to check ive done it right.

Progressive day and providing getting my inlet mani down to Rockwatt tomorrow and wiring in some sidelights and tidying the above wiring, could be all done and ready for a mot this week :D

Thanks again!!

Decided not to bother with the photos as mine is a 413 and the vit is a little different. That and the fact your fitting an SU which does away with about a hundred soddin little hoses including ones that heated sections on the original carb. So thought I'd just post up this......

Looks like an interesting alternator... I'd be surprised if you couldn't "mod" the square SJ connector to fit in it ;)

Thanks mate, looks like I figured it out correctly, I'm presuming the vac for the brake servo is the pipe below the carb intake

Thanks

That would of been a preferred method but the original connectors not there lol

Spade connectors superglued together then? ;)

Mine's the same, bough a vit engine and it has a round plug, had to chop off the regular one
