Hi guys ,
im new to the offroading and thinking about going down the suzuki route, ive ever owned a one so not sure what to look for. i dont have a lot to spend but need to be taxed and motd to drive to venues. im in the northeast and dont mind doing a few jobs to sort a one out .

Hi and :welcome:

To be honest if your good with a welder and a set of spanners the only thing to worry about is the price. :hahaha:

If you can't weld find one with a solid (ish) body and dont worry too much about the other stuff as they are basically a mecano set.

The main things are normal engine checks.

Check 4wd engages in hi and low.

If your new to 4x4s the gear lever will feel like a spoon in porridge. Dont worry about it.

Check there is no oil leaking from diffs or transfer box.

Common rust areas are behind seats. Body mounts behind seats. Just inside rear door. Front and rear arches and front footwells.

Try to avoid anything with a shackle lift as it is bad for the springs in the long run.

The samurai has wider axles which are preferred due to stability.

I'm sure someone else will add a load more to this.
