Lose wires.. Suzuki Samurai SJ413 1989
Hi, I have a wire off the temperature sensor from the water/thermostat.
and I have a lose wire which is yellow and I remember black tape being wrapped around it.
I moved the anus then came back a week or two later to start it and it won't start, Yikes!
Can anyone identify if either of these wires is needed for ignition, there seems to be no signal at the dashboard. When key is on temp, fuel, Engine check are not lighting..
Cheers
Graham

if the other one is black and white then it should fit onto the spade connector on the back of the starter, just behind/below the big +ve battery to starter cable
Should come from the ignition switch to the starter, that should get the starter turning at least

Went and had a look there, You are right, the black/white wire comes off the Starter.
That same coloured wire seems to be paired and hanging there in the picture. Also a yellow which must be the temp sensor.
But I dont see where the black/white should connect into.. coming off the starter it seems to run up the loom to the dash fine. Maybe I'll pull them all back to trace it..
Thanks
Graham

Looking at the wiring diagram it says there was a black white, going to a carb solenoid, maybe from the old carb.
So why is my engine not starting?
And why do I not have info coming to the dash??
Ahhhhhhhhhh. Engines.

is your suzuki spanish or jap?
Have you checked the fusible link off the battery positive?

is there still a black/white tracer on the alternator? The black/white tracer is the main ignition live feed for the ignition/dash etc. so I'd start looking for the other end of that
The only yellows I can see in both Jap and spanish diagrams the positive feed for the reverse and Hazard lights I think?

There is two spades off the starter solenoid. The black and white was on bottom and nothing ontop.
So I put this other end of the black\white to the top connector.
Engine starts and powers dash.
But Engine wont shut off now. unless I pull the wire off the top (signal) of solenoid.
As I write this now Im thinking maybe I should connect the other end to the bottom spade as well.
I'll try that. Thanks for help.
Yellow is cooling by the way.

Interesting.
It should be a Black w/yellow tracer that is the trigger for the starter? On none of my wiring diagrams is there a Black w/white tracer on the starter? so I don't think that is correct, There should be one connected to the alternator, maybe the one that is loose should be spliced into the one on the alternator if there is one still connected to the alternator?
Various diagrams can be found here if you aren't already using them? http://forum.suzukiclubuk.co.uk/vi ... 11/t,2097/
Also it should be a Yellow w/white tracer for the Water temp sender so I presume that wire has a white tracer
