Hi,

Just joined the forum - my Dad had an '86 413 when I was a teenager / new driver so, of course, I drove it more than he did! It was unstoppable and became a well-loved wagon with me & my mates. Now, many years later, I find myself after a new car, something my new-driver gf can drive so have been looking to see if there's any still about.

So, not technically an owner yet, but hopefully soon will be and may be useful to get some assistance from enthusiasts on here as I look for the right buy.

First, I suppose I need to get the gf sold on the SJ but I don't think that'll be too much of a problem ;)

Cheers,
Marc

hahah ive had major arguments with my last two girlfriends regarding the SJ!

Needless to say, the Zook comes out on top. Its easier to find a new girl than a new SJ haha

Thanks for your replies, feelin' welcome :D Are the SJ's particularly expensive to insure? Didn't think they would be. Not really a problem for me as have 5+ yrs ncd but was planning to put gf on insurance and she's only been driving about 2 yrs.

your insurance shouldnt be too bad, mine is only expensive at £3000 because im 18 and have had my license only 1 month so i have no ncd..

best thing to do is find a sj on ebay, use the reg plate on a comparison website then you will get the idea of how much insurance will cost you...

yep age and experiance, but another thing is where you live..

my SJ is £6000 parked on public road outside my house
but outside my girlfriends it is £3000 on public road

yours shouldnt be anywhere near the £3000 mark since you have 5 years no claims behind you sonot to worry mate i would still have a check though, easy enough to do and gives you an idea before you buy one...

but i tell you something, i could not find any other car cheaper to insure than a SJ410, im not sure what a 413 is like to insure though....
