I take it you mean headlight grills, a bull bar and one of those roll cages that bolts onto the chassis and goes completely around the body?ScottieJ wrote:As much as I want to keep it stock some bolt on mods to protect it if I go green laning are quite tempting.

There's three ways of doing things:
The right way,
The wrong way
And my way, which is like the wrong way but faster.

No Exo cage for this, doubt it'll even have a cage! Just some nice bumpers with corner protection.Edweird wrote:I take it you mean headlight grills, a bull bar and one of those roll cages that bolts onto the chassis and goes completely around the body?ScottieJ wrote:As much as I want to keep it stock some bolt on mods to protect it if I go green laning are quite tempting.

Don't look too bad that mate. Get her running,Couple of new wings, spot of welding on the sills. And a a damn good steam cleaning and it'll be a different truck.
Which way are you planning on going with this mate? standard or modified? would look nice on some bigger rims. This guy seems to have got it right

Re: Saturdays the day!
Definately been sat a while. Somewhere dirty and quite green and moldy im guessing at.
Looks like a good project, even if its just to keep standard(ish). Lwb are getting pretty rare now. Good luck getting it up and running with out a fight.
How solid is the body on it?

Re: Saturdays the day!
It was sat in a car park for 5 years
I've had a quick look around the body and it needs new front wings, outer sills and some work in the rear bed, around the fuel filler and rear arches but its a lot better than I thought it was going to be (famous last words!)
it's going to have some subtle mods for now as I would like to use it for some green laning and weekend trips etc. loads more room in the back for camping gear etc,
plan is:
Tube bumpers front and rear with 2" receiver hitches.
Bolt on rock sliders
maybe a very small virtual lift just to make fixing the arches easier
30ish" m/t tyres
Transfer box guard
Maybe a ruf / rascal rear conversion to soften the ride up a bit.
I just want it to be a tidy and practical daily drive / green laner so that I can use the SWB as just a toy and not have to worry about breaking it
