it does not look too bad, it is still quite yellow underneath and does not look like it has seen any real mud.
i assume it is the 8v engine as it does look like my sons 8v in his sj.
a real hair dressers car.
even had their last take away in the boot!

Ah it's a 4u

Yes that is an 8v engine, so easy as anything to convert to carb, however if it was me if try and get a key sorted for it or disable the immobiliser. Injection is a lot better!

Re: new vitara owner new developments

Post by plugspanner » Sun Nov 25, 2012 12:08 pm

after a bit of work and a lot of thought i got it running today.
it does actualy run quite well, no nasty noises or rattles, ticks over ok and no smoke trail, it even goes forwrd and backward, all the lights and indicators work, but the bad new is that some one fitted electric windows and now the passenger door window is stuck down.
i think i will reconvert back to wind up ones, i hate electric windows anyway, just a painas i cannot even lock it but the inside is dry despite the recent rain we have had in somerset this week.
more news as it comes.
