Back at work today so no major work has been done.

I have managed to cut one of the transfer box mount bolts by half an inch. Refitted it and it seems to have stopped the knocking in 4wd high.

Also did a very important mod yesterday.

I haven't given up on alternators either. Got a 100amp mitsubishi unit from the scrap yard when i got my other pulleys. Holding it next to the Zuk alternator both seem very similar.

We'll see

Back end was a cheap finish as i ran out of cash. Just to keep it legal. I'd like to raise rear cab floor and fit the fuel tank underneath. Then make tubular back with wheel carrier and tool box.

But as said i have

Recovery point to weld up
PAS to fit, bucket seats, bump stops, lift springs.

Soon as rockwatt is sorted i need 2 SU manifolds and air box adaptors and a Rock lobster. That'll be jan or early feb.

Bodywork is at the bottom of the list right now.

Looking good, I do like that exhaust, o don't think you need anything else on the back, simple & uncluttered a simple high lift mount and spare wheel and your good to go!

It looks like there should be an artic-trailer hitch on there.
There's three ways of doing things:

The right way,
The wrong way
And my way, which is like the wrong way but faster.

I know what your saying Tramp. I'd quite like a small box on the back for a bit of recovery equipment and storage. Not a lot of space in the cab for gear. Keeps dirty stuff outta the way too.

Bodywork is on the back burner though. I'd said to Scottie "this is the weekend i'm going to start and fit all my stuff". One quick trip to morrisons, a visit to a scrap yard, quick bath and it was back to work again.

I'm off friday but can't see anything getting done. Got a joiner, plasterer, carpet fitter, tumble dryer repair man and a coal delivery to see to.

Waiting for the nod from Rockwatt to take my bits n pieces down for modification.

Not enough hours in a day!

There was a weekend? I must have blinked.

My Zuks my daily ride too so until i'm off for at least two days I daren't start anything too major.

It'll be bad enough having it off the road while rockwatt does the bits. I'm hoping i'll have the cash to tax and insure the pickup.

I had a mess about last weekend to see how to mount the power steering pump. I came up blank. It lines up with one hole in the block ok, doesn't seem to foul anywhere. I'm hoping i can just drill another hole through the bracket and line it up with another hole in the block.

As for tensioning it? I think it will be a similar bracket and arm set up to the alternator. Thats the most indepth work i've done for 4 weeks.
