Hi from Bulgaria...

Post by The Heretic » Tue Mar 26, 2013 8:40 pm

:poke:

Well, My brother and I both have Suzuki's. He may well have already joined, but I know he reads the forums for titbits of info. Anyway, I have a '98 Vitara, and he has an '86 SJ413.

The Vit is pretty much standard mechanically except for a 1 1/2 inch spacer lift from bits4Vits. After having an argument with a tree, and it winning, I had a bumper made by my local Neanderthal. Nothing fancy pants, but solid enough so I will win next time. I have also thrown on some hillbilly underbody protection using 4mm steel checker plater. It goes, (in 3 parts) from the front bumper to behind the transfer case gearbox. It is bolted at the moment, but plate 2 and plate 3 are to be welded together.

My Bro's SJ has a 3" lift from Mountain goat, with Calmini shocks. Her did have the extended shackles, but the leafs/leaves (?) didn't seem to appreciate it. he too has underbody protection, but he took the 'un-hillbilly' approach, and bought his from a chap in Italy. he has the underbody protection, and front steering protection, fuel tank guard, and front and read diff guards.

The only place you can't drive is in national parks, or forestry commission land, or private land. The vast majority of land otherwise is free to use. The scenery is superb. We live in the foothills of the Stara Planina mountain range, so literally minutes from interesting stuff to play on.

Thanks for the kind remarks. Yup, been over on Difflock but you can pick up lots of different stuff on different forums. My bro has an SJ so it will be goof for info here.

Hi, must have missed this, I have property in bulgaria (at the momentan apartment at Pomorie) and a village house near Sopot/Karlova. I also have a suzuki sj413 which I have been planning (for the last 4 years) to get over to Bulgaria, to play in the mountains around Karlova. Was thinking about driving it over but not sure I could stand such a long journey in one of these.

1700 or so miles in an SJ? Could be 'interesting'! So you live pretty much exactly the opposite side of Shipka compared to us as the crow flies. On that note, this was outpr wee trip to Shipka.
