What do you think of this ??

Post by The Bird Man » Mon Apr 01, 2013 4:44 pm

Alright chaps, as some of you know I am looking to buy an SJ. Well I think I may of found one.

What are your first impressions on this ? http://www.preloved.co.uk/adverts/show/ ... oader.html

I haven't been to look at it yet as it's a bit of a drive so I can't just pop over. Just want to run it by you all and wondered what you lads think of it on first impressions, Should I go and have a better look or should I cross it off the list ? Oh and it has 99 thousand miles on the clock ! That is one thing that is worrying me a bit. Any advice will be greatly appreciated :D

It says no rot. Be very thorough when checking it.

Mileage is a bit irrellevant. So long as it's been well maintained.

I'd say certainly worth a look. Its advertised at £1000 so you should be able to get it for less.

Cheers pal ;) I shall ring the bloke up later and arrange a viewing. I was hoping to be able to go this week but looks like it'll have to be next week now as my friend that I was taking to have a look at with me is busy all week. Just hope it'll still be for sale !

Looks pretty tidy from the pic's  .

I would ask the guy if he means its rust free from new or whether its been restored because it has a 410 front end on it. That would sugest to me it may have been restored at some point which isn't a bad thing as long as its been done well and isnt just covered in fiber glass.

Thanks for pointing that out mate, didn't notice that. I shall ask him that when I give him a bell, once again, cheers ;)

Look s good but still give it a good going over to make sure.
Jordi it says no offers so he might not take less but no harm in trying

Looks like the sills have been cut out and box welded in, again not a bad thing as long as it's been done well.
Does no rot mean, rot cut out and welded :er: .

With all the spares that he has with it, it may very well of been restored at some point. I've decided not to ring him as I can't go just yet so I shall wait until I can (next week). I just hope it won't sell by then.
