I know, I can't help it, I'm a total geek, and I havn't spoken about what I've been doing recently that I'm quite proud of..... I've been taking my little lads trains and fitting bigger motors in them, I've also been pulling off the 'thomas' faces & fitting grills/smokebox doors..... at my house when we play trains we do it right! as for rc, its one of those things that a blow hot & cold with, a week or so ago I was 'rc woooooo' at the moment I'm 'rc meh' I do have an rc want list though, tamiya clodbuster is right at the top followed by a traxxas slash 4wd. I also want a plane....

trains are serious business, let's not spoil them with a face! Bah Thomas, have you seen the new Thomas & friends? It makes me annoyed watching it (with the kids) its so nicey nice & moral, give me the thomas I remember when I was a child where if a train was bad it got bricked up in a tunnel.... thats a life lesson worth teaching!

i sencond you on the whole Thomas the tank business, i uest to love watching them real (un-animated) trains buzing about, and wasnt ringo star the most relaxing narrator ever!
i also have a good collection of tamiyas and kyoshos, and helicopters and boats that i built before i could drive, ive lost count of how many projects i started and never finished, it is a real shame but i will do them one day.
and despite what my signature says secretly im actually going all russian.

Can't knock the Lada mate. I'd buy one tomorrow!
Coils. Get the injection model and you can use astra ecus to up the power. 16" steels easily available. Only problem is i'm sure they are a monocoque so all welding and rust reapirs need to be cock on.

Nerd away! My dad had an n gauge layout in the garage, basically a board with track nailed to it, it wasn't complete but was a bit shit! He occasionally brought it up to the house with a set of plastic buildings, I'd set them out and drive the trains around.suzukisteve wrote:tramp I have a whole loft full of old hornby sets I was given by my uncle as I nipper! To be honest I always fancied an n gauge set myself, so last year our gurtrude got me a boxed bachman n gauge set. I contemplated making a coffee table and having it running around inside but it seemed like a lot of work & expense so instead it went up the loft, probably not to be seen again! - along with my steam traction engines (I got banned from running them in the living room after an ember burnt a hole in the laminate)
I also go fishing but that's more of a social hobby rather than something im really into

Re: Other hobbys??
thanks for the enthusiasm man! all the welding was done on this one before i got it by a car restoration company, quite a good standard. no injection for me though, just a 2.0 fiat twin cam running twin 40 carbs. 200bhp apparently?
