Works fine on mine.
Is it me or does Luke look like he works in the dark underbelly, just slightly above the firey depths of hell?

Close..... its actually the furnace front wall so its as hot as hell & dusty, but still not as dirty as when I worked at the steel works! Luckily for me I only had 32 burners to check & it only took me a couple of hours!Jordi wrote:Works fine on mine.

Yeah one of those powerstations, we are coal fired, so we have 32 pf burners per unit, each burner has an oil burning lance and a gas ignitor, we check the oil burner weekly. Most of the dust is escaped ash & coal dust. It's one of my least favourite inspections!

Nice job!!
You can't beat coal fired power stations, I don't care what the tree huggers say.
I used to work at a company that repaired the coal pulveriser gear boxes for Drax. They sometimes got pretty messed up, and needed a it more than TLC to sort out.

Re: Few work photos
Yeah, I'm not sure what types of mills are fitted to drax, ours are pretty reliable but when they do go it usually something big. Drax is massive site & is bigger than us, I think they have x6 660mw sets wheras we have x4 500mw sets. I'm not sure what the future holds for coal stations but at the moment its looking ok because as a country we havnt started building the next generation of stations
