steering gear.

has any one had any problems with the steering gear mine has started to leak a bit and my steering vibrates too sometimes

mine was leakin constantly and loose as hell so i just tightened it up and filled it with grease.. worked a treat and passed the mot

grease you sure it looked an smells like gear oil. like in your t box, just well used, mum wot to do

yeah it is supposed to have gear oil in it but the oil seal was F#@%ED so i adjusted it nice and tight and then filled it with grease cuz its to thick to leak. pretty sure it will b ok. hasnt caused any problems yet. :lol:

like your thinking, the adjustment? hows it work? i get you titian it an lock it off, but wot duz it do with in the gear?

dunno exactly what the adjustmet does inside the box. I just released the lock nut and kept tweaking it and checking play at the steering till it felt and looked good. Then backed it off a little and tightend the lock nut. Then pumped the grease in. Made a whole world of difference
