1st outing, quick thanks to those that helped.

Post by SteveR » Fri Aug 30, 2013 8:19 pm

As said above, big thanks for all the info and help so far, more q's to come.
As said before I bought an SJ for winter snow driving around hills where I live, was not expecting such a good condition bodywise and seems a shame now to be using all through the winter, have done a good inspection underneath and started on re rustproofing stuff, checked out heater for 1st time and seems to work well here in mid summer.
In pic I took off spare wheel to make lighter but found out my mistake in 2 wheel drive on inclined gravel turns, soo little weight on back that wheels spin real easy so now spare back on and tool box sitting in back.
very few issues so far, 2 small oil leaks , will ask Q's in forum, needs new set of mud and snow tyres, new radio ariel and new windscreen, great big crack right infront of driver.
Axle breathers and possibly transfer box protection.

Pleased your happy with it. They are a super motor and very capable.

I know Rockwatt does a very good transfer box guard, can't remember the price though. He will ship internationa too.

I'm not so sure about the back end being light though. Even in my standard Zuks i never round it to be a problem, most likely just the loose gravel surface.

That's a beautiful looking SJ. I love that colour!
There's three ways of doing things:

The right way,
The wrong way
And my way, which is like the wrong way but faster.
