Re: diesel conversion
Any real reason your going for diesel?
Easiest option is a vitara 1.6. Diesels are heavy noisy horrible dirty things.
Most common is the Peugeot swap or VW. All depends how handy you are, anything will fit if you try hard enough.

my car does not like water every time I hit water all I get is problems. diesels don't have the same bother
Re: diesel conversion
I've done the LDV/306 Diesel with LDV box, but I would advise you to use a 106 diesel engine which can be mated to a 413 gearbox.

Re: diesel conversion
i had a vw 1.9tdi that fits straight onto the 413 box. I wouldnt recomend it a good 1.6 vit engine good waterproofing and you will be fine.

1.5 Isuzu turbo mated to Carlton box. If your running a 410 transfer box you'll have to go to a 413 as the derv engine + Carlton box makes it silly low geard.
1.5 ISUZU TD ENGINE. EXTERNAL ROLL CAGE. CUSTOM MADE FRONT & REAR BUMPERS. SAMMY AXLES. RASCAL REARS. RUF. WRX SEATS. FRONT & REAR WINCHES. SNORKEL. FRONT SPOTS & REAR FLOODS. TWIN BATTERIES. FULL WADING KIT. 8.5" WHEELS WITH GRIZZLY CLAWS. OH!!!! AND THE WIFE'S ROASTING TIN!!
Re: diesel conversion
You mean with an adapter plate? Doesn't it also need a machined flywheel?turbo-tom wrote:i had a vw 1.9tdi that fits straight onto the 413 box
My old little f10 was fine in water. As long as you have good HT leads they are usually fine.
I'm not a fan of diesel conversions myself, never really seen the point.

I'm 99% sure you need a machined flywheel as well. If not why would people bother buying the acme adapter kits?
