25 year old Suzuki Samuari
25 year old Suzuki Samuari
Hi all, Newbie on the block and wondering if someone can help me with a problem. Daisy has started to die on me. She starts fine but when I slow down the revs just drop and she dies. Normally starts again straight away, but I have to keep the revs up or she dies again. Any ideas?

I'll be willing to bet money that it's a 1.3 and it's the auto-choke!!!

Or it's got a blocked fuel filter.twiss wrote:I'll be willing to bet money that it's a 1.3 and it's the auto-choke!!!
or
It's getting carb icing now the weather is colder, is the hot air feed (silver tube from the heatshield on the exhaust manifold to airbox) fitted? If so has the air box been switched over to the cold air setting?
Also if it's a 1.3 check the wiring to and from the fuel stop solenoid on the carb.

Welcome to SCUK.
As said what engine is it running?
Does it have the hot air feed pipe?
Has the air box been set for winter?
How long since it has a set of filters?

Hi, she is a 1.3 and manual choke. I live in Cyprus and it is a little cooler now but ice is not not an issue!!

Carb may just be knackered. Very common issue on 1.3s. Most people replace them with webber or SU carbs.

In that case I would start with the fuel filter and maybe give the crab a strip down and clean before swapping it out.

The crab? I think our esteemed leader means the carb.ScottieJ wrote:In that case I would start with the fuel filter and maybe give the crab a strip down and clean before swapping it out.
