Re: Kawazonkey
They are a bit bonkers, 160kg, 69bhp, 150mph. Not bad for 400cc.
Took the fairing and seat covers off to have a better look...not good, wiring all over the place, not sure what any of it does, all twisted together...nice.
The rear disc is beyond shot.
The end can is mullered.
Going to be a long old project but it'll be worth it in the end.

Yep, joined that site the same day I got the bike...some hints but nowhere near as good as SCUK. Asked 1 question, got 2 replies both saying 'don't know'. Whacko.

Re: Kawazonkey
I've been doing bits to the bike whilst waiting for filler to dry in the Beetle...first off I discovered the bike IS restricted. Could have fooled me, but I need a UK CDI for full power. The Jap one restricts it to 10,000rpm and 110mph. UK one lets it rev to 14,750 and max speed. They are rare and pricy but I've kept an eye out and got one for £15!
Wanted to check the coolant and that involves taking the tank and airbox off to access the radiator cap, no worries as they are coming off anyway. Drained the 'coolant' to discover a cup full of brown sludge...nice. Flushed it all out and new coolant in, no cracked block this winter! Not done the oil yet but bet that is tar.
Was going to buy new discs (3 are £500, fuck's sake) but after looking at other bikes mine seem OK so they will stay for now.
Also decided to try polishing the alloy frame and swingarm. This could take some time!

Re: Kawazonkey
MPH speedo and a new foot rest hanger turned up today, the old one was poorly welded to say the least. Need a 7mm spanner to get some nuts off and have had to order one, local place had none.
Some bloody odd sizes on this bike...

Shiney bits!
7mm, that's the Japanese for you. What was wrong with the Whitworth sizes? Or even good old tried and tested imperial.
