Depends how much lift you run and what size tyres will fit.

A lot of us run minimal lift, 2" ish, and have done a virtual lift (cut the arches out). I run 33s, as does Scottie and Ferris. Dan is on 31s but is going to 33s.

On standard springs you can go to 235/75s quite easily. I did have 31s on standard springs with just a virtual lift.

All depends on budget and if you want to go virtual lift, body lift, lift springs, spring over axle. 31s are a good size on an SJ.

Also depends on gearing, when I had my 31s on standard gearing it was painfully high geared.

If you don't have the confidence to cut the arches and bulked out I would go for some 2 inch lift springs and some 31s.

My current setup has done me proud and handles well on the road still.

Easier way to measure the lift is probably to measure the clearance between the ground and the bumpers and compare it to someone on standard springs.
