Been working for another haulier today, traction only.

Took a trailer from their yard at Stoke to Airbus nr chester (nothing special). Then picked this bad boy up to go back to stoke. You could tell it was an American trailer, built for American roads. It did not like English roundabouts.

As a rough comparison a standard UK trailer is 45' / 13.75m. Currently on trial are longer trailers upto 15.75m I think. These trailers must have certain axle spacing, self steering rear axles and an overhang.

That trailer is approx 61' / 18.5m, no steering, axles as far back as they go. Certain junctions were interesting.

Surely even moving the trailer axles forward a bit would improve things.

Stoopid yanks!

For all you digger spotters out there ;) just some of the jobs I've been on so far this year. Some grim days down in Ayrshire out on the hill side of an open cast coal mine. It was bad when 2" of snow/sleet was stuck to the side of the van, but none landing on the ground. Jordie do you ever deliver bendys to Finning Glasgow?

We do 99% of the articulated Cats out of Peterlee. Just all the export stuff though. I have no idea how the trucks get to the UK dealers. I've only ever delivered to a Finning dealer once and that was just a demo truck.

Love the heavy plant, it may be sad but I'm a big kid and can't help but like diggers! Do you ever work with Kress? We had a few we had to look after when I worked at the steel works,

I have a photo from work that I can share with you lot....

Ha ha. We should get some bikes for our M&E team at work.

I got a new van the other day. All the creature comforts. Even hot running water. Lovely!

Yeah, exactly that, were split down the middle though, one department made of two, I'm in the electrical which is mostly shift maintenance, then there's C&I which is days regular. the last bike in the row is one of our old ones and belongs to the turbine team. In terms of other transport We also have a ford ranger crewcab and until recently we had an electric truck, which was scrapped. C&I have an electric truck and a diesel 2ton forklift, which we are jealous of, as we have to borrow the pool forklifts if we need one!

We have to borrow a telehandler that's normally fitted with a bucket and used to move cake by operations when we need it.

Nice LT35 pickup with a Hiab, dumper truck, Landy 110, and various trailers too.

Just a random snap on the way up yesterday. Had an MLRS on the back. As far as I know we aren't supposed to photo army gear, so I didn't.
