Hi Guys
I have recently bought a 1.6 8v auto Vitara on a M reg.
Engine seems fine but the box feels like clutch slip in a manual car, so if i select reverse & try to reverse up my drive is struggles a bit. I assume its a 3speed transmission? it changes gear fine.
When accelerating I get a very strong smell which smells like peroxide(just like the wifes hair dye) anybody know what that might be?
Would a fluid change be benifical? if so what do i use? i might aswell do the front & rear diffs at the same time so what is best to use in them? is it stright forward enough to change out? I also own an mitsi evo & thats a right job to switch out the fluid!
thanks for any help
Lewis
Vitara Auto box & diffs
Re: Vitara Auto box & diffs
I would start with changing the transmission fluid, should just be normal ATF in the gearbox i think.
