Re: My Suzuki SJ 410 Pick Up (pics)
quick update
just bought a remote central locking kit for it and a few other bits and bobs
i will take pictures of installing the central locking for peoples interest.
range rover classic seats will fit with a 10m gap between the arm rests so will still be functional which is the main reason for them!
and with enough room to slide forwards, up and down in height and recline!
ill get some pictures of 1 seat in when i get round to it.
thats all for now

been doing alot of stuff recently, the engine is back in and rebuilt and running like a pussy cat. i bought a new bottom end with 45k on it for £15 off ebay
i just need to strip and rebuild the axles with new parts get some prop spacers wack my power steering kit on wask my rear disc conversion on and shes good to go after a whole ton of wiring!
i will document all the stuff im doing with some nice pictures as always
heres some pictures from the engine build and some odd bits!
the plate with the switches in is for extra lights, electric fans, heated seats, and a whole bunch of goodies yet to come into my imagination!
there will be a sixth switch going in! i just didnt have it at the time.
i have also made another fuse board for all these goodies with a buzz bar similar to your fuse board in your house! its basicly a live piece of metal with flat spades on it so you can take your live feeds off to your lights, fans ect it makes for a much neater installation and looks nice if done properly! its also handy for fault finding

Yo mate how did the central locking fitment go?? I have just bought my kit and will try and get it sorted out this week. Any tips for getting it fitted properly.
On my car the drivers door has original locks however the other locks are different and I dont have the key. The locks are open, however can I still make the kit work even though I dont have the key for the other locks?
I hope so as this was the main reason for getting the kit, so that i would not have to fanny around changing lock mechanisms etc.
Also is it possible to attach the system to the boot mechanism too??
Cheers

i still havent fitted the locking motor in the drivers door so i was going to do that this week and get some pics for you mate.
it will work mate as long as you can lock it from the inside?
if you cant lock the door from the inside then it might need a slight modification but its nothing to worry about!
and yeah you can easily fit it to the boot lock. the link to the central locking site i sent you has instructions on how to fit it to the boot mechanism.
cheers

quick update!
got lots done today and got the rear disc conversion but waiting on front studs, calipers and my mate to lathe some drums.
i got these rear wheel bearings from a excellent shop in kent. they are german so very high quality! cost me £12 each but with a massive discount. there not cheaper than bearings from suzuki but they should last alot longer..
the 2 collars and 2 oil seals cost £31 from the suzuki main stealer!
towing it up the yard tomorrow to make the brackets for the rangey seats to go in!
just gotta bleed brakes hoping ill swop my insurance over next week!
still have to service the window mechanism and fit the central locking on drivers side! i will be making a write up about the winding mechanism for people to fix those stiff knuckle crunching windows!
cheers

got a fair few bits done the last few days. range rover classic seats are in now! i did have lined up some leather electric ones but my mate put them in his new range rover which was only a vogue so had cloth manual seats! really comfortable! ive got heated seat covers to go on the cloth with some velcro pads i will sew on to the covers and the seats and then got nylon seat covers! the heated seats should make the nylon nice and hot!
i fitted a gas strut to the bonnet which is a really nice handy thing to have!
its from a ford fiesta mk xr2 boot strut.
the bonnet hits the roof but its the only way i can get it to open and close just right with the limited space i had.
i put a rubber bush in the center of the bonnet so it doesnt smack against the roof!
heres a video of the exhaust working lovely

just clears

hi there,
well guys shes on the road! its my first time driving an sj on the road and ive gotta say its an experience
cant wait to get my power steering fitted.. ive got a swivel knob on my steering wheel and its very very hard to turn.. steering damper isnt bent but i am running 31" 10.5 tyres
took it down a few lanes and it was great! not as bouncy as i thought and the range rover seats soak up most of the bumps on the road!
will get some pics up of some more things on my truck.. got lots of wiring left to do for all the goodies!
gonna get need to get some new springs as they are all s shaped.. will be making a anti tramp bar soon to.
all in all its a an abosulte bitch to drive just like an sj should be hey.
will get more pics up soon!!
cheers
